SIMPLY MINIMAL DRIVE

This house was a new-build on a small, sloping plot, the entire area was excavated and the basement & house built up from below ground. This front driveway and artificial grass lawn were to be built on top of a cinema room & gym!
This presented issues with drainage and protection of the concrete ‘roof’ that was to be built on; these issues were solved with close collaboration with the architects.
All of the services enter the property through the small brick built unit, which was designed with cedar slatted doors to match the screening.
An automated electric sliding steel gate clad in cedar gives the property total privacy.The small areas of planting are the only areas without solid concrete beneath!
I also designed the landscaping around the entire house, with a small, very sunken courtyard at the rear.
